Lease was signed, window signs went up, and I had a beautiful empty space that was soon to be my new dance studio. The studio was formerly an old gas station and more recently a karate facility. I posted on FB and announced to my clients who were as excited as I was about the move. One of my regular clients, Karen Goodman reached out to me and told me she owns her own interior design business (Copper Dot Interiors) and would love the opportunity to work with me and create my dream studio! She didn't know that I had been stalking her blog and beautiful interiors for a couple of years now. It was such a pleasure working with Karen. She listened to all my interior requests as well as streamlined my ideas to create a classy, timeless, functional and magical space with more character than your average dance studio.. I have never worked one on one with an interior designer before, but it was such a fun experience, and if you are looking to decorate your home or business, you must contact Karen! the lobby Our lobby is a crisp white clean space that can fit more than 14 parents. Karen designed a large sturdy reclaimed coffee table which was made by Maurico Woodworking....love supporting a local craftsman. The dancers love crowding around it after ballet and coloring their position worksheets. I love the modern letterfolk sign for announcements and quotes. A local artist and mompreneur, Jess Blazejewski drew beautiful pencil drawings of me at the barre and our little ballerinas. the parents must see in.... This is so important to us at DanceFIT. We welcome parents to watch all of our classes. We want parents to see our teachers in action, our wonderful curriculum and witness their child's progress throughout the year. This beautiful antique door was refinished by my very talented father-in-law and is perfect for this space. storage galore We have a spot for everything. Our bubbles, parachutes, wands, fitness equipment and our clients belongings. ...and now, our magical dance space! This picture shows it all. Lots of natural light. Long beautiful curtains. Seating for parents, High mirrors, white portable barres. So many classes and ballerina birthdays have already taken place on this dance floor and hundreds more to come! I had to show a close up of these curtains. Curtains of this length were out of my budget, but I wanted the elegance of curtains....Karen to the rescue...(and Karen's mom). Karen did a lot of research and found these beautiful ballet pink curtains at Ikea. Her mother sewed together a solid white curtain with the pink. Stunning!
This beautiful studio is our new home. I hope you come visit, take our classes, meet my friendly staff and keep dance in your life :) At DanceFIT we are not your average dance studio.....we are so much more! Check out our classes here.
