We don't do a big recital. We spend the school year learning technique and developing strong, creative and well trained dancers. We introduce choreography in our April - June session, and spend about 15 minutes per class practicing. During the last week of ballet in June, we hold an informal, in-studio performance.
Our Philosophy This event is such a special opportunity for your child. It's a lovely, stress-free chance for our dancers to perform in front of family & friends. We believe that hosting the recital in the intimate setting of our studio space will help build self-confidence & performance skills while retaining the comforts of a familiar environment. We will award all dancers with a certificate of accomplishment at the end of the performance. You may invite friends & family to attend.
Costumes (no costumes!) Spring tuition includes a $10 headpiece for dancers. Students should wear appropriate dancewear (pink or black leotard depending on their level, pink tights & pink slippers). Hair should be pulled back into a neat bun. We will demonstrate the bun-making process in early June. Dancers may come with a little blush on their cheeks. Depending on their classes, dancers will wear special "costume makeup."
Schedule The dancers will perform on the last day of class. We like to combine the classes to give the dancers more of a performance experience.
If your dancer attends on Thursday, the performance will be Thursday, June 15 at 4:30 PM.
If your dancer attends on Fridays, the performance will be on Friday, June 16th at 4:30 PM.
If your dancer attends on Saturday, the performance will be Saturday, June 17th. Since we have 6 classes on Saturday, we split them into two groups, 3 classes perform at the 9:30 AM show and the other 3 classes will perform at the 11:30 AM show. Early April, your ballet teacher will notify you what time your class is. We can't make this decision until we know our class sizes and we try our best to keep siblings at the same time, but unfortunately it is not always possible. -
