Welcome to our temporary studio during our coronavirus closure. 💻
We believe as a community we need to do our part by not contributing to the statistics by staying home as much as possible. We will try and keep our classes as "normal" and familiar as possible for your young dancer during this temporary period and we hope to be dancing in the studio(s) soon!

We are new to DanceFIT and joining our first class this Spring. Should we do anything? We can't wait to dance with your child! If they are joining us for the first time or for the first time in a while , please send along the answers (firstname.lastname@example.org) to the following questions: 1. List 3-5 words that describe your child’s character (ie. cheerful, shy, competitive) 2. What are your child’s interests & hobbies? 3. What goals do you have for your child in dance? 4. Please share something special about your child with me. 5. Please share some of your child’s favorite songs or soundtracks. 6. If your child has danced before, please share their dance experience/ background.
Should my dancer wear his/her dance clothes? Yes, please! All dancers should be in their dress code. This helps them feel like they are in dance class and helps with focus.
My dancer is in Tippy Toes....are you even doing virtual classes for us? We are! The virtual studio is open to all our dance levels. We look forward to dancing with you and your dancer....just like class!
Is parent participation needed for all classes? For Pre-Ballet (Ages 3-4) we would like parent supervision to keep them focused and engaged. Please stay in the room with your dancer. For all classes with dancers ages 5+, we will need your assistance getting the dancer setup with the technology, but no you do not have to participate. After being confined to your home for many days, you may want to do dance though. This is a fun activity to do with your child of any age. Siblings are welcome to join.
My dancer is in a combo class, are you going to do tap & jazz? We love our combo classes, but we will not be doing tap because we don't want to ruin any living room floors and many dancers will be dancing on carpet. If your dancer is in a combo class with jazz, we will be doing jazz.
Will my dancers class be the full 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 1hr class? No it will be a little shorter. In the studio we allow time for dancers to travel go across the floor, wait their turn for leaps, etc. In a virtual class they will get to have their turn many times! All virtual classes will be 45 minutes or a little less. Tippy Toes (ages 2-3) & Pre-Ballet (ages 3-4) are approximately 30-35 minutes.
Can you explain the technology? Will you be able to see us? Yes! That is the best part. We can see you and you can see us. We use the popular zoom platform. Please download before and make sure you are running the latest version. Please check for updates before class. Sometimes the updates can take 10-15 minutes. Usually any technical issues are due to an update that was needed with your personal computer or zoom. Please close all other browsers on your computer. Please check in advance that your speaker and camera both work.
Do we need a lot of room? Nope! Your DanceFIT teachers will be teaching from their homes too. You will see our living rooms and personal living space :) Please do your best to give your dancer an open space to move around. Move the coffee table, dance in the kitchen....whatever works! Dancing on carpet is fine. Dancers will need a chair or a surface to use as their ballet barre. My dancer loved his/her virtual dance class. Can we take additional classes? To add an additional class to your dancers schedule, please email us as we will be offering a special tuition package for those who want to take two virtual classes a week. Another great option is to register for our pop-up kids yoga classes, which are integrated into our adult fitness schedule Thank you for all the 💗love 💗 (and photos) you send our way! Check out our testimonial page.
Please note that although Gina has run a virtual fitness studio for many years, the other ballet teachers are using this platform and unconventional teaching method for the first time. Due to the nature of the studio closures, Gina only had a day to train them. We hope we covered everything, but know technology can always have its frustrations. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this. If for some reason your class has any technology issues, please email us and we can welcome you into another familiar class at another time this week.
