Class Descriptions

Our boutique dance & fitness studio offers a variety of FUN fitness classes for adults.  We believe that the key to fitting more activity in your life is rediscovering that joy of movement!

Check out our variety of classes. We recommend 4 classes a week for feeling great! Think through your week ahead and decide what your body & mind need this week. It might change week to week and that is not only OK, but it is encouraged.  A great place to start is with 2 High Impact (more cardio-focused) classes, 1 Low Impact (more toning focused), and 1 Recovery (stretching) class.  This is a great formula for meeting MOST goals.

We also offer an array of adult dance and fitness workshops that are designed to create a special small community feeling while building on advancing techniques so you can perfect skills and gain strength.  Read more about our special workshops here.

SHiNE™ Dance Fitness

SHiNE™️ is a cardio dance fitness class rooted in ballet, hip hop, and jazz set to today’s hit music. It has original choreography that can be performed at all levels. We incorporate routines that bring out different emotions and movement. For example, one song might make you feel graceful while the next might make you feel fierce. We vary the complexity and intensity of the routines to ensure your safety and success during a SHiNE™ class. The SHiNE™ dance floor is open to EVERY BODY. No dance experience is necessary…come as you are!

Zumba®

Think you've taken Zumba® before and  you know it already? You haven't experienced Zumba® at DanceFIT yet! Enjoy the international dance party that happens to be an amazing interval workout. We guarantee you'll smile all class long and leave stress at the door. Zumba® features global rhythms, and our instructors also infuse class with their own personal style and song choices, yes, some songs from right here in the U.S.! We guide you through easy-to-follow patterns so you can go all out, or modify as needed–we’ll show you how. All levels welcome, come and enjoy!

Sweat Pilates

Enjoy a full body workout using a total body band, light weights (1-2lb), a bender ball and a pilates circle to help promote full range of motion, increase flexibility and build muscle without bulk, all to fun music. Through controlled movements, the props allows you to experience Pilates-style resistance workouts without the machines. We strengthen our entire body with Pilates mat work while bringing our heart rate up and getting a great sweat on!

Ballet shoes, sticky socks, or barefoot are all accepted.

UPLIFT​™

UPLIFT™ is a full-body workout that combines traditional strength training moves with iconic music and sprinkles in some booty-shaking fun. Each choreographed class uses a combination of weights, resistance bands, and balance and mat work to target muscles and movements that will serve your everyday life. Come for the engaging playlist and hype energy!

​BalletSTRONG

Move like a ballet dancer and feel the power of movement from the inside out. This uplifting, all-levels workout blends the beauty of ballet with the intensity of interval training, helping you build grace, strength, grit and endurance. Expect ballet-inspired sequences that make you feel strong, elegant and empowered, combined with cardio bursts, light weights, and core-infused mat work. Each class ends with a mindful stretch to leave you feeling grounded, grateful and connected to your body. No dance experience needed--just come ready to move with purpose and joy.

LOW IMPACT - TONING
Toning classes are fabulous for building strength to get through your day, strengthening muscles to support your joints and avoid soreness with fun and creative classes all set to amazing playlists. This is how we get STRONG!

Classic Pilates

Enjoy a full body workout using a total body band, light weights (1-2lb), a small ball and a Pilates circle to help promote full range of motion, increase flexibility and build muscle, all to fun music. Through controlled movements, the props allow you to experience Pilates-style resistance workouts without the machines. We strengthen our full body with this Contemporary Pilates mat work which focuses on strengthening specific muscle groups and reducing joint strain.
 
Ballet shoes, sticky socks, or barefoot are all accepted.

Adult Beginning Ballet

​A truly very beginning class designed for adult dancers. All fitness levels will appreciate the artistic aspect as well as the great exercise in this class. Ballet steps are introduced very slowly so that self esteem and ballet technique develop in a fun atmosphere. Although this class is designed to introduce ballet concepts to the new or returning dancer, students of all levels can benefit from the return to fundamentals.

​FlowFIT

FlowFIT is a music-driven workout that combined the muscle strengthening benefits of Pilates with the flexibility of yoga. Using your own body weight and light weights if you choose, FlowFIT will increase your strength, flexibility, balance and focus using beautiful flowing sequences of movement set to fun music. Suitable for all levels.

Barefoot, sticky socks or sneakers are all accepted. 
LOW IMPACT - RECOVERY
We focus on stretching and rolling out sore muscles for a healthy and proper recovery from everyday activities (sitting, walking, high impact classes, toning classes, etc.).  We also feature at least one fun social event each month (many are free!) to refocus on our community and building lasting friendships - the perfect way to unwind :)

Deep Stretch

This stretch class is a very simple class with one purpose;
S-T-R-E-T-C-H-! Stretching increases flexibility, while easing tension and stress in the body. This class is a good healing therapy for anyone willing to give their body room to grow, breathe, and relax.
 
Suggested Props: Yoga strap or pilates circle (a towel can also be used), yoga blocks
​Please have a mat.  ​Ballet shoes, sticky socks, or barefoot are all accepted.

Roll and Relax

Explore facial release techniques and stretching using YOGA TUNE UP BALLS or 2 TENNIS BALLS. Work on building road maps of your body and learn where your body holds tension so that you can relax and release tension using self massage. Learn a new way to reset and relax!
 
REQUIRED PROPS for at home if taking virtually: Yoga mat and tune up balls or 2 tennis balls.

Social Events

Join us for many fun community based social events to relax, chat, and build long lasting friendships.  All are welcome to these fun (and often free) events, we'll let you know about them in the studio and on social media!
*DanceFIT classes are small & intimate with highly trained instructors; we can modify ANY class to help you with any low impact needs you might have (yes, including Zumba® or SHiNE™!)
