About Chef LeighLeigh has always loved to cook (and eat!). In college, her passion for food led her to study cooking while studying abroad in Florence. When she returned, she did a month-long stint in a restaurant in Naples, FL where she learned almost everything she knows about cooking, but also that she did not want to be a chef in a restaurant. Instead, she started a business shortly after college called Nella Pasta making handmade pasta and selling it in Farmers Markets. Over the next 9 years that business grew to include selling wholesale to small and large specialty stores including Whole Foods, our own retail shop, and a take away restaurant in Boston Public Market. It also won a handful of national awards! Post Nella Pasta, Leigh wanted to return to her cooking roots with a better focus on nutrition. She started private cheffing and has been cooking meals for local families for the last two and a half years. Each week Leigh scours through cookbooks, magazines and websites for nutritious, flavorful recipes and recipe inspiration to create weekly menus. She tends to choose ethically inspired, veg-forward recipes that do not follow one diet, but opt for whole foods, made from scratch.
Leigh is always happy to answer any questions for fellow DanceFitters, help with cooking idea slumps and basically anything food related!
